Jerome Macalla, a dangerous predator, has been sentenced to jail for his heinous crimes. Macalla broke into a woman’s home in Sheffield and subjected her to a horrifying sexual assault. To ensure her silence, the 33-year-old threatened to shoot her and even went as far as threatening to decapitate her if she reported him to the police. Fearing for her life, the terrified victim fled her home and sought refuge with a friend. South Yorkshire Police worked diligently to bring Macalla to justice, ensuring that he would no longer pose a threat to society.
Arrest and Conviction
Macalla was apprehended at his residence by officers after being caught with a shovel while attempting to break into a house. PC Katie Walker, the officer leading the investigation, expressed her admiration for the victim’s bravery in reporting the rape despite the menacing and chilling threats made by Macalla. The victim’s fear of this malicious individual must have been overwhelming. Macalla faced multiple charges, including rape, harassment, criminal damage, sending threatening messages, possession of drugs, and driving while disqualified. Although he admitted to all the offenses except rape and harassment, a jury at Sheffield Crown Court found him guilty of those charges. Macalla, residing on Arden Road in Birmingham, received a 12-year prison sentence.
